Destructive Nature

I praise the nature that grows under my feet,

the nature flowing straight to the sky.

But nature took away something

I cannot forgive.

The bible says

that if you sin

you'll see the wrath of God.

What a mighty sin nature conceived.

It's as if

under the absence of our bows

Nature laughed and forced us down

forced the trees to fall

crack

shatter,

to worship on our knees.

Don't fear the snake, the bird, the bear

fear the falling tree.

What I would have given

to be able to sit in the forest and watch it fall

shed a tear for every fallen branch

a whimper for every leaf

and an anguished cry for every tree.

I would have sat for hours

mourning the destruction.

And I still do.
