that you don't even know me
but fortunately I do.
I will prove to you-
I will prove to everyone
that I'm nowhere near finished-
I've only just begun.
When you've been falling
there is nowhere but down.
And the ever-looming
always there, hard and sturdy ground.
But when you begin to climb
your mind is not on what's below
but on where you're going to go.
Sometimes it crosses my mind
that I'm only hanging on by a pebble.
Why not slip and fall right down
and become buried by all the rubble?
But no, I may not make it all the way
but I will certainly try.
I will climb up very far
before I inevitably die.
We spend our whole lives climbing
and falling, nonetheless.
Hoping to be living
in a world of happiness.
I'm on my way to the top
and I intend to make it high.
So when I finally reach the end
I will feel like I can fly.
