Lock me up-
throw the key
away.
Trapped in this cage
all night-
all day.
Food and water
in the corner
to keep my life
sustained.
But closed up
all alone,
my livelihood
waned.
The food became
tasteless
and the water-
dull.
Hungry for a friendship-
but always lonely
and never full.
Let me out.
I'll go so far away-
and find my own
cage to stay.
